LinkingPets

Basic Principles

Your privacy is of critical importance to us.
We do our best to offer you three simple but very important principles:
  1. Transparency.
  2. Privacy.
  3. Safety.

Of course these three words don’t fully express what we really provide you with. Therefore, we’ll tell you what we do and don’t do:
  • As a first step, you may feel relieved, we do not ask or keep any password. Instead, we use the Facebook Login Service. You can see in the next section how we use each required permission.

  • We don't track you. We don't want to know where you are, what browser you are using or what you are interested in. We just offer you a simple service.

  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, protect our rights and satisfy your needs.

  • We make every effort to keep our code and our database protected from possible attacks. Like everyone, we hope we do not have exploitable security holes.

About cookies

We use cookies because we think it is the most appropriate way to handle your session. We don't need them for anything else.
We also use Facebook login services and it is likely that at some point we will use Google Analytics as well. To carry out this we must include in our code a link to the scripts that both companies provide. We know that these scripts use cookies, but we do not know exactly what they do, what kind of information they collect, and whether they comply with our privacy policies. Like everyone who uses these services, we simply trust that our privacy will be respected. You can disable the installation of cookies by adjusting the options in your browser, but if you do, you will no longer be able to use all the features offered by LinkingPets.

Facebook

Facebook Login lets you quickly and easily create an account in our site without having to set a password.
The information we collect from your account will be your first and last name, gender, email address and facebook ID. We use this information just to identify you as a user.

Ads

Although we do not currently have advertisements, we can use advertisements to support our project in order to provide you with a better service. Some ads may send cookies to your computer to recognize it later and/or compile information about you. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements which they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by LinkingPets and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Delete user data

LinkingPets complies with the General Data Protection Regulation allowing the user to delete all related information in a simple way. To do this you must login to linkingpets.org, authenticate with Facebook, click on the top left menu, go to "My account" (or directly on https://www.linkingpets.org/?page=myaccount) and then in the lower section "Delete my account" you will have the option to delete your account by pressing the "Delete" button.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, LinkingPets may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in its sole discretion. LinkingPets encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.

By using this website, you indirectly state the acceptance of the privacy policy described here
